Commonwealth Scholarships

Presently, the Commonwealth Scholarship applications for 2008 are not open as the University is awaiting confirmation of Federal Government changes to the Commonwealth Scholarships Program. We anticipate that the scholarships will be open for application by mid to late November and further information regarding the opening date of the scholarships will be made available on our website as soon as possible.

These scholarships are designed to facilitate choice in higher education and to increase participation by students from low socio-economic backgrounds, particularly Indigenous students and students from rural and regional areas. These scholarships are funded by DEST. There are two types of scholarship:

1. Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarships (CECS) to assist with general education costs;
2. Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarships (CAS) to assist with accommodation costs.

Seizan Fukami Fund Scholarships

These scholarships are available annually for prospective undergraduate students intending to undertake their Japanese studies at Curtin's School of Languages and Intercultural Education. These scholarships are kindly sponsored by the Seizan Fukami Fund.

Study Abroad Travel Grants

These scholarships are to assist students to participate in an approved Student Exchange/Study Abroad program once they are studying at the University. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $4,000, are one-off payments and do not cover any student contribution fee component. Applications for this scholarship will be available during 2007 at the time of application into the Student Exchange Program.
